Athens Cleanup Day, a Great Success!

Friends of Athens is immensely proud of and thankful for the community volunteers who joined us this past Saturday, April 30, for Athens Cleanup Day.

All in all, 36 large bags of trash were collected in and around the Village of Athens by an enthusiastic group of 19 adults and 2 children.

Together we collected a wide variety of garbage, including assorted cushions, auto parts, construction debris, signs, and more. Aluminum cans and plastic bottles were the top items collected.

“It was a great group effort! . . . You can tell [from the photos] that spirits were high today!”

— Ellen Roth, Friends of Athens, Board Director

We intend to make this an annual event and hope you will join us next year!
